Logan Jackson is an African American filmmaker, writer, and artist. A emerging voice who is originally from New Orleans, LA. He received the Emerging Director Award from the prestigious Oscar Qualifying American Black Film Festival in 2020.
He has worked with multiple award-winning crew members including Emmy award winning cinematographer Will Turner and Oscar nominated musical composer Gavin Brivik. His latest short film, My Hero, has received national and international acclaim, picking up the 2020 Best United States Short film award (Palm springs International ShortFest), Best U.S. Short film (MINT film festival 2020), Special Jury award (Deep in the Heart Film Festival) and the Best Dramatic Short Film Runner up (WoodsHole Film Festival). My Hero has also picked up major award nominations in multiple Oscar Qualifying festivals, Brief Encounters Grand Prix Nominee (Encounters International Short Film Festival 2020), Best International Short Film Nominee (Flickerfest international Short Film Festival 2020), and the Grand Jury Prize Nominee (Nashville Film Festival 2020). My Hero has gone on to screen at a handful of other Oscar and BAFTA Qualifying festivals with screenings at more than 50 film festivals worldwide. My Hero is still currently on the festival circuit and it is also screening internationally on France3 (France cable station) and CuriaTV streaming platform.
Logan Jackson has just wrapped up his latest short film entitled Leonetty and
is currently in development with his debut feature film.
